Brooke Walsh – West End Kids Troupe

Where are you from?

I am from Walderslade in Kent.

When did you join West End Kids?

I joined in summer 2023 when I started in the WEK: Training Blue Troupe.

What inspired you to audition for West End Kids?

My mum saw West End Kids on social media and showed me the videos of Troupe performing. I thought the dances were very advanced and impressive. I decided that I wanted to join.

Training and Dedication:

How many hours a week do you spend rehearsing and training?

On a school day I normally spend around 3 hours rehearsing my material getting it set in ready for Saturday. On Sunday I practice more and use this as my starting point for the rest of the week.

What do you find most challenging and rewarding about your training?

Something I find challenging about my training is the amount of material we learn in a week. Although this is challenging for me, I keep myself organised and understand what I need to do to get the job done.

Future Aspirations:

What are your future goals in the performing arts?

My future goals in the performing arts industry is to be on the West End.

Which role or production would you love to be a part of?

My all time dream role is Veronica from Heathers, after watching it live for the first time after my West End Kids audition. I instantly fell in love with the set, lighting, songs, dancing, characters and overall, the whole atmosphere of the show. Another show I would also love to be in is Blood Brothers as the role of Linda, she has very good character development throughout the play and the actress gets to play all types of ages (as she grows up throughout the play).

Personal Interests:

Do you have any hobbies or interests outside of performing?

I do enjoy Ice skating in my free time.

What is a fun fact about you that not many people know?

From the ages 7-11 I was a competitive gymnast.

Motivation:

Who inspires you the most in the performing arts world?

The person that inspires me the most is Olivia Barnett Legh, she is a really good actress, singer and dancer that brings life to the stage. She played the roles of Heather Chandler in Heathers the Musical and Meg Giry in Love Never Dies. Overall, she’s an amazing actress as she has inspired me from the age of twelve.

What keeps you motivated to keep improving and performing?

Something that keeps me motivated is the outcome of all my hard work and how it feels performing on a stage.

Experience with West End Kids:

How has being a part of West End Kids impacted you?

West End Kids have helped me so much through my journey as a performer. Before I started West End Kids my dancing and singing ability was at a standard I wasn’t happy with, but since joining West End Kids and having singing lessons with Martin my ability has improved a lot.

What advice would you give to new members or those aspiring to join West End Kids?

Advice I would give is to always rise to the challenges, push yourself to the best of your ability, never give up and you will get where you want to be.
