Performance opportunities at West End Kids

Empowering Young Performers for 25 Years - About West End Kids

West End Kids is a London-based, national training and performance company for young performers aged 9–18.

For over 25 years, the Company has developed performers to a professional standard, combining structured training with real performance experience at major events and productions.

We are not a stage school or weekly class provider.
West End Kids operates as a selective company, with a clear pathway, defined standards, and a commitment to disciplined, high-level work.

Performers join, train, and perform as part of a company environment designed to reflect the expectations of the industry.

Our Approach

Training at West End Kids is built on three principles:

1. Professional Standards
Rehearsals are structured, focused, and outcome-driven. Performers are expected to work with discipline, respond to direction, and maintain consistent effort.

2. Ability-Led Development
Performers are grouped by level, not age. This ensures they are continually challenged and supported at the right standard.

3. Training Through Performance
Development happens in rehearsal and performance, not isolated classes. Every season is structured towards real outcomes.

This approach builds not only technical ability, but the mindset required to work at a high level.

Performance & Industry Exposure

West End Kids performers regularly appear at high-profile events, including large-scale public performances, commercial showcases, and industry-facing opportunities.

These experiences are not treated as extras, but as a core part of development – requiring preparation, professionalism, and consistency under pressure.

Performers learn how to:

  • rehearse at pace
  • adapt to direction
  • deliver under performance conditions
  • work as part of a disciplined ensemble

How The Company Works

West End Kids operates on a season-based model.

Each season includes a defined number of rehearsal days, leading towards performances and projects. Performers commit to the full season and are re-invited based on progress, engagement, and readiness.

Entry is selective and typically begins with a workshop, followed by further assessment where appropriate.

The pathway is clear:

Workshop → Training → Troupe → Performance

This structure allows performers to progress with clarity, purpose, and increasing expectation.

Track Record

West End Kids has a long-standing reputation for producing performers who progress into leading training and professional work.

Alumni have gone on to:

  • West End productions including Les Misérables, The Phantom of the Opera, Heathers and SIX
  • UK and international tours
  • leading performing arts colleges

Others have built careers across music, television, and creative industries.

This reflects the standard, discipline, and experience developed during their time in the Company.

What Makes West End Kids Distinct

Selective Company Model
Entry is not open-access. Performers are invited based on potential, attitude, and readiness.

Structured Pathway
Every performer understands where they are, what is expected, and what the next step requires.

Performance-Led Training
Work is always directed towards real outcomes, not abstract class progression.

Long-Term Development
Many performers train with the Company over multiple seasons, allowing for sustained growth and progression.

The Outcome

West End Kids develops performers who are:

  • technically strong
  • responsive to direction
  • confident under pressure
  • capable of working at a professional standard

For some, this leads directly into the industry.

For others, it builds a level of discipline, confidence, and capability that extends far beyond it.
