WEK: Training

The pathway into the West End Kids Troupe

A different kind of training

WEK: Training is where performers develop the skills, discipline and consistency required to progress to performance.

It is not a standalone programme. It is a pathway.

What WEK: Training Is

WEK: Training prepares performers for the demands of the Troupe.

The focus is on:

learning how to rehearse effectively

How WEK: Training Works

Training is delivered across the year through structured rehearsal periods.

Each season includes:

Rehearsal days run 11:00am to 6:00pm, allowing for focused work and manageable travel.

This structure reflects how performance is developed in practice – through preparation, repetition and refinement over time.

What Students Do

Students attend rehearsals across the season and work towards a clear outcome.

They develop:

Progress is reviewed regularly, and expectations are clear.

Performance

Performance is primary part of the training process. West End Kids believes that you have to earn the right to perform for an audience.

Students may be selected for performance opportunities where they demonstrate readiness.

Each season concludes with a formal end-of-season performance, providing a clear goal and a point of delivery for the work developed.

Progression

The pathway is simple:

Progression is based on:

There is no automatic progression but weekly, monthly and seasonal progression opportunity.

Commitment

Participation is structured by season.

Students are invited into each season and commit for its duration. At the end of the season, progress is reviewed and the next step is determined.

This creates:

Standards & Expectations

Training is delivered at a professional pace.

Students are expected to:

Development happens through repetition, focus and consistency.

Entry & Fit

Talent is important, but it is not enough on its own.

WEK: Training is suited to performers who are serious about developing and are prepared to work consistently towards performance.

It is not designed for casual or drop-in participation.

Start here

The best way to begin is to attend a West End Kids Workshop.

This gives performers the opportunity to experience the training, work with the WEK team and receive guidance on the right pathway.
