Journey with West End Kids
Where are you from? Each Saturday I travel from Grundisburgh in Suffolk
When did you join West End Kids? I joined the West End Kids troupe in the spring term of 2024
What inspired you to audition for West End Kids? My journey began when I saw a post on social media, auditioned, and was fortunate enough to get into Blue at the age of nine. Since then, I have worked my way through the groups.
Performance Highlights
What has been your favourite performance so far and why? My favorite moment—there have been many, e.g., Glowworm Festival, Under Globe performance.
Can you share a memorable moment from one of your performances? But, my all-time favorite has to be the Silverstone Festival, an incredible experience that I made alongside my friends doing what I love and enjoy
Training and Dedication
How many hours a week do you spend rehearsing and training? I spend 2-3 hours daily learning, practicing, and perfecting my routines.
What do you find most challenging and rewarding about your training? I find the most challenging things are keeping focused and concentrating when things are physically challenging. I find the most rewarding thing about my training, is performing my routines to a high standard after putting the effort and hard work in.
Future Aspirations
What are your future goals in the performing arts? My future goals in performing arts is to be on the West End and make my dreams come true, as well as opening my own dance company.
Which role or production would you love to be a part of? Ever since I first watched Six I always dreamt of being Anne Boleyn, dressing up in the dazzling costumes and seeing people enjoying my performance.
Personal Interests
Do you have any hobbies or interests outside of performing? Other than being on stage, I deeply enjoy playing netball.
What is a fun fact about you that not many people know? I am playing in regional fixtures on monthly Sundays and in our local league in Division 4.
Inspirations and Motivation
Who inspires you the most in the performing arts world? I am inspired by my peers, who push me to my limits and support me along the way.
What keeps you motivated to keep improving and performing? My motivation is the end result of hours of training, watching people appreciate that we’ve done a good performance. Helping people in need by doing charity performances and overall just to hear somebody say “you all were amazing up there” puts a smile on our faces.
Experience with West End Kids
How has being a part of West End Kids impacted you? West End Kids has taught me to persevere when things are tough, it can be physically challenging but I know with the feedback and training I receive, I can and will improve. In the short time that I have been with Troupe I’ve made many friends and memories which will stay with me for the rest of my life.
What advice would you give to new members or those aspiring to join West End Kids? I’d say always go for it! Always try your best no matter the circumstances. When I was in blue, red etc I was afraid of letting go, but my teachers and choreographers helped me to just go for it. I built strength and techniques going through each of the training groups. I am now lucky enough to say I am part of West End Kids Troupe.
