May 2024 in the WEK: Training Yellow Troupe.
What inspired you to audition for West End Kids?
My mum saw a post on social media and then after we watch some videos, I have decided that I wanted to give it a try and audition
Performance Highlights:
What has been your favourite performance so far and why?
I have been in WEK for just a few months and only did 2 revue performances so I have to say the second one was my favourite as was feeling more prepared and more relaxed as I knew more how it all worked and I was fitting in more
Training and Dedication:
How many hours a week do you spend rehearsing and training?
On top of the around 9h rehearsals on Saturdays I try to spend at least 1 or 2h a day rehearsing and when I can’t I watch the videos in the car journeys
What do you find most challenging and rewarding about your training?
Definitely try to fit the time to practice during the week on top of school work and every day life but with a little of time management it’s possible and at the end when I see how much I improved since I started is so rewarding
Future Aspirations:
What are your future goals in the performing arts?
I would like to work in the west end if possible, a main role and be able to open my own dance studio in the future as I love creating new routines
Which role or production would you love to be a part of?
I would love to be part of Hamilton one day, I remember been so amazed by it and thinking that I wanted to be part of it in the future
Personal Interests:
Do you have any hobbies or interests outside of performing?
Love spend time with friends and family, watch tv and any chance I have to be in a theme park I am as I am a thrill seeker and love rollercoasters
Motivation:
Who inspires you the most in the performing arts world?
Zendaya and Idina Menzel
What keeps you motivated to keep improving and performing?
When I step into the stage in front of an audience, that buzz and adrenaline is amazing and see that people are enjoying watching me perform is so rewarding and makes me want to keep doing it
Experience with West End Kids:
How has being a part of West End Kids impacted you?
I believe West end kids is preparing me for the industry and is giving me a lot of confidence and I can see improvement in my dance and singing skills
What advice would you give to new members or those aspiring to join West End Kids?
You really need to work hard, it’s tough but practice, practice and more practice and you will see that at the end it will pay off. Be confident and have fun.
